The City of Electra is a Home Rule City, with full services available to its citizens. The five (5) member City Commission is elected to two (2) year staggered terms. The City Commission appoints the City Administrator, City Secretary, City Attorney and Chief of Police. The City Administrator is responsible for the day to day management of the City.
The City Commission is also responsible for appointing various boards and committees who provide citizen guidance to specific issues. Volunteers are encouraged to get involved and serve on boards or committees that are of interest. Meeting schedules and descriptions of the various boards are included in the City of Electra Boards and Commissions handout.
City Hall is located at 101 N Main Street in Electra and can be reached Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at 940-495-2146. After hours emergency service is available at the Police Department by calling 940-495-2131. Residents are able to establish utility connections for Water, Sewer, Electric and residential garbage at City Hall. In addition, City Hall staff is available to answer questions regarding the community and other services available.

Larry Pannell is the current City Administrator for the City of Electra. He holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin and is currently working on earning a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Illinois-Springfrield. Before coming to Electra, Mr. Pannell worked as the Director of Finance in Zion, Illinois for seven years.
